My parents came to visit us recently! When I heard they were coming, I asked if they'd watch the kids for a couple of days while Wes and I went on a trip together, and they kindly obliged! The kids had so much fun with my parents, they hardly missed us! Wes and I went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, a super cute town. We stayed at this European looking hotel, and had a fabulous time, relaxing and conversing without children interrupting us every 2 seconds!! So fun to be with my awesome husband!
This was the view our of our room. It was nice to see the woods again!!
Not where we stayed, but there were so many cool houses there, I kept snapping pics.
Another cool old building, a hotel that is supposedly haunted that we got to peek around.
A very interesting part of our trip was going on a tour of the "holy land." They built many of the Bible sites from someone who visited the real sites and tried to remake them. While I'm sure it wasn't 100% authentic, it was very educational. Below is the tabernacle around us with the white tents, scaled to it's actual size and they had an ark of the covenant inside the inner tent.

This trip was timed perfectly, since we were there 2 days before Easter. It makes me so grateful to remember the many sacrifices that our Savior, Jesus Christ suffered in our behalf and that He overcame death for all of us and sin for all of us who have faith and repent in Him. What a matchless gift!
I believe this is the largest statue of Christ in the North Americas. I had no idea this was there before we went. They put on a big play during the summer about Christ, unfortunately we got there before the season began.
When we returned home, my mom had all the preparations made for the Easter egg hunt and the kids were on pins and needles waiting to begin.
You see how well they cooperated for a group shot...
We also enjoyed watching General Conference with my parents. It's so reassuring to have a prophet on the Earth to give us direction and counsel.
Can you tell our kids love their Grandma and Papa?
This little guy knows how to work his pouty lip!
Last weekend we took the kids to a fun Truck show where the kids got to go inside all kinds of different buses, trucks, fire engines, etc. The boys especially loved it and Jazlyn was a good sport about it.
Can you see that everyone was thrilled about all of these photo ops? Just trying to document the weiner-mobile here, people!!
Shelten's new thing is shaving with Dad. Don't worry, no razor was used on him. He loves getting ready for the day with Dad. Sometimes he even gets his hair "gelled" by Dad too. No wonder he's such a daddy's boy!
Can you see these boy's bubble goatees? They're growing up so quickly!

We had sooo much fun, but it went way too fast!! Glad we were able to spend one on one time with the kids.
We are so happy Wes and you got a little one on one time together also. Every couple needs that:)
Looks like they had fun at the "big equipment" day. Jazlyn is always a good sport to go along.
Glad you got to get away for a little while with Wes, how fun! Happy Easter!
What a great trip! That area looks so neat. Glad you got to get away. I need to figure something like that out...
How fun. It does seem like a really cool area.
What a fun vacation.
Your parents are awesome! It looks like you guys had a great time together!
Looks like lots of fun! Glad you got to have a little get away. Russ and I did that recently, although we still had our baby with us,
What a great getaway. The Holy Land was definitely lacking but the spirit can be anyplace people honor Jesus Christ. Loved seeing the boys with their beards.
Glad you had a fun trip and a fun time seeing your parents.
