Seven years ago, my prayer of being the mother of atleast one girl was answered! Not sure if we'll have any more girls, but Jazlyn is a girly girl in every sense of the word. My kid's birthdays make me so nostalgic. It's weird because in one way it seems like forever ago that Jazlyn was born--it seems like she's been with us for such a long time and that I've been a mom forever. But on the other hand, I can remember her being a baby as clear as it was last week. She is such a special girl and the best big sister to her brothers. She plays so well and takes such good care of both of them. She's like a little mother and as you can see in the first picture, she "practiced" being a pregnant mom even when she was only 2.
I've been so amazed by all that Jazlyn has learned this summer. She flipped a switch where all of the sudden she was learning things like crazy--most things of which she was very scared of in the past. Just in the past 2 months she has learned to:
ride her bike without training wheels
waterski
play piano and doing very well!
swim
jump off the diving board
For most 6 six year olds, these are probably usual things, or things they've already been doing them for awhile, but Jazlyn is super cautious and not usually excited about trying new things. It was crazy though--she learned how to ride her bike on the 4th of July and from there it was like her confidence built and she just kept trying new things right and left with minimal fear (compared to the past). I'm so proud of her!!
She's also been a reading machine this summer! Yesterday we went to the library and got a couple of chapter books and she's read 3 books since yesterday--which were atleast 60 pages each (minus a few pictures, but still!!) We're so blessed to have Jazlyn in our family. She's an amazing example to her parents, brothers, and all who know her.
Her most exciting birthday present was her new bike. She'd had her other bike since she was 4 and looked like she was almost curled up in a ball trying to ride it. She's so much more comfortable on this one now and rides around like a pro. We love you Jazlyn!!

Every mom needs a daughter. It is a blessing when you get daughter.
She has grown up so much this summer. I hardly recognize her. What fun that she has gained so much confidence and it trying so many new things. She is very special to me. Give her my love and best wishes for a great birthday year.
I still remember getting a picture of her after she was born on my mission. She knows how to waterski! That's awesome! Happy birthday.
Way to go Jazlyn!!!!
She is so cute, she looks so much like you.
I cannot believe Jazlyn is already 7. She looks so grown up too! Way to be such an awesome mother.
What a cutie! Happy Birthday Jazlyn!
44Happy Birthday to Jazlyn! It's so exciting to hear about the new thnigs she's trying. And, I think it's awesome she's a reader like her mother.
Wow she sure is looking older, and growing up so fast. What a sweet girl. My mom always said she was so thankful to have older girls to help with the little ones. You're lucky to have such a sweet little Jazlyn.
